As Founder and CEO of Pollack Architecture, now Rapt Studio, with offices in San Francisco, New York and LA, Richard Pollack built a solid foundation for the practice renowned for designing workplaces that transform the way that people work. In 2011 he finalized the sale of the firm to the employees through an ESOP and moved on to his newest endeavor, Pollack Consulting – a consulting firm for the Design, Construction & Real Estate professions. Clients are taking full advantage of Richard’s proven experience in growing a multiple award-winning professional services firm, his industry leading sales expertise and his knowledge of successful ownership transitions.

One of only a handful of people to ever be elected by his peers to both the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), Richard is an experienced statesman of commercial interior architecture as well as one of its enlightened futurists. A sought-after speaker, he has made addresses to groups including: AIA (he is a past National Chair of the Interiors Committee); IIDA (he is a past international president); the Design Futures Council; International Facility Management Association (IFMA); Design Futures Council; lecturer at California College of the Arts (CCA); and CoreNet Global. His awards include IIDA’s Leadership Award of Excellence and CoreNet’s Service Provider of the Year.

Richard studied engineering at Rensselaer and earned a B.Arch degree from Pratt. Richard is a licensed architect in multiple states, is a past board member of the Architectural Foundation of San Francisco and the Corporate Advisory Board of After School All Stars. A current focus is serving as a mentor of high school age boys at Hanna Boys Center and helping them to grow through education and new life experiences.
