As a kid what did you want to be when you grew up?: A Residential Architect. In 2nd grade my class had a Hobby Day and I brought in floor plans of houses that I had drawn!
If you could keep only five possessions what would they be?: My immediate family- including my husband and son. I guess I would consider my dog, too…First item to eliminate would be my cell phone, technology is scary these days!
What is a skill you'd like to learn and why?: Public speaking. I think the ability to speak in front of a crowd and articulate your thoughts is what makes the biggest impression on people.
If you could have dinner with any person, dead or alive, who would it be?: My grandparents - who have all since passed away. I had such close and wonderful relationships with them all and it would be wonderful to catch up and show them the woman I have grown into and become.
If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go?: Florence, Italy. I had the opportunity to study abroad there my junior year of college and I reminisce that experience daily. The people, architecture, food, environment... it’s a magical place.
What accomplishment are you most proud of?: Contributing my design ideas to one of the top healthcare systems in the United States and knowing that it has made a significant impact on the patients, families and staff.
Lesson learned that has benefited you most in your career: Have a full understanding of your responsibilities - ask as many questions as you want so you and your team/client are always on the same page.
Why did you choose to become an Interior Designer?: It’s where my heart has been since I was a child. I love all of the different aspects of my career- from designing to client relationships to the impact the work has on the end-user.
Most significant inspiration: Traveling! Experiencing another city or country’s culture is a natural high for me. I am the most invigorated when I am in a new environment.
