What is your strongest personal quality?: I am laid-back and easy to work with What skill set are you most proud of professionally?: My candor with my clients. What was your favorite toy when you were a kid?: Legos! I used to build very elaborate and detailed space ships. What do you hope to accomplish as an IIDA Emerging Leader? Meeting new peers in the industry and learning about the business of design. What's your go-to for de-stressing?: Cooking for my family and friends with a glass of wine in hand. Revit, CAD, or Sketchup?: Revit Are you usually early or late?: I am always late, but sometimes I am unreasonably early. What three things are in your bag?: I take the Mary Poppins philosophy of a handbag very seriously - but I'd say a notebook + pen, headphones, and my Kindle are the most important. If it's winter this list also includes fancy hand lotion and two hats. What is your favorite part of being an IIDA member? Opportunities to meet other professionals and expand on my understanding of the design profession. Why did you choose to become an Interior Designer?: I've had a weird path to interior design that started in fine art, segued to geology, snapped back to architectural studies and ended here at interior design. I've always wanted to spend my time doing something that was art-adjacent and I love the process of creating spaces that people enjoy spending time in.
