What is your strongest personal quality: The courage to take risks!
What skill set are you most proud of professionally?: Communication. It is key to everything we do as designers, whether it’s verbal or in drawings that need to speak for themselves. Luckily, I love to talk (Gabby is my name for a reason!) and through that, I have learned when it's important to speak up or ask a question, and how to be effective when doing so.
What was your first thought when you woke up this morning?: How quickly can I get myself a coffee?!
What is your best childhood memory?: I grew up spending a ton of time with my family and am lucky enough to have 13 first cousins (on one side!). I have the best and most hilarious memories of when we would all play 'house' together, and use our imaginations to be different people, in different places, with awesome careers.
What's your go to for de-stressing?: Exercise is my day to day "de-stresser"...but when I have time, travel & adventure are my preferred way to take my mind off all the stress.
Revit, CAD, or Sketchup?: Revit is my religion!
Are you usually early or late?: For work, always early... for my personal life, usually fashionably late...
What three things are in your bag?: I always have headphones, red pens, and sneakers on hand! (High heels are definitely not commuter friendly...)
If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance at winning a medal for?: If sleeping was an Olympic sport, I might just take home the gold! To my friends, I am known as 'The Queen of Falling Asleep, Anywhere, Anytime'.
Why did you choose to become an Interior Designer?: I knew that I wanted to make an impact on everyday lives, and this profession allows us to do that. We get to mold how individuals experience moments through different types of space. That's pretty amazing! Our industry also presents a constant challenge, where the needs are ever-changing, and I love that. Interior Design pushes us to be endlessly creative, inspired and adaptive.
What is one goal you'd like to accomplish in your lifetime?: When I retire, I am going to move to an island in Croatia! It is the definition of paradise. Maybe I'll even build my own house there... see ya later Boston!
