IIDA New England would not be able to provide the programs, benefits and support to our membership and community without the unwavering support of our Committees. The following awards are given out at each year's Annual Meeting & Volunteer Celebration, held every June. The nomination process is peer driven and through a thoughtful matrix, winners are selected by the Board of Directors. Volunteer of the Year Award The importance of volunteers to our Chapter cannot be overestimated. The Volunteer of the Year Award is our highest recognition for individual achievement to recognize an individual who, through example and accomplishment, provided outstanding volunteer service to the Chapter. The individual acknowledges and celebrates exemplary leadership that has had a significant and positive impact on advancing the interior design industry as well as the IIDA NE Chapter. These are people who rarely say, “No”, and are always willing to lend a hand. Only one Volunteer of the Year Award may be awarded per year and may only be awarded to a person one time, once per lifetime. Recipient must be a member of IIDA. Former Star Award winners are not eligible. RECIPIENTS Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Leadership Award This award acknowledges and celebrates exemplary leadership in advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion in the interior design industry and community, with clear positive impacts in areas as a result of these efforts. This individual exemplifies the importance of diversity and inclusion in their volunteer efforts within the Chapter but also within their daily lives outside of the Chapter. This award is our highest recognition for individual achievement related to EDI and is awarded annually. Only one EDI Leadership Award may be awarded per year and may only be awarded to a person one time, once per lifetime. Recipient must be a member of IIDA. RECIPIENTS Visionary Award This award is presented to individuals who demonstrate any or all qualities of exceptional foresight, strategic thinking, creativity, advocacy, and vision, that furthers the advancement of the IIDA New England mission statement. Someone who is always thinking outside the box, asking the hard questions about why we do what we do and respectfully challenging the process. This person represents change, growth and progress for the Chapter. Only one Visionary Award may be awarded per year and may only be awarded to a person one time, once per lifetime. Recipient must be a member of IIDA. RECIPIENTS Excellence in Mentorship Award This award recognizes an individual who has excelled at supporting and mentoring others and demonstrates extraordinary leadership to increase the participation of others within IIDA NE and the industry. This person goes out of their way to include, guide, and mentor others within the chapter and community. Only one Excellence in Mentorship Award may be awarded per year and may only be awarded to a person one time, once per lifetime. Recipient must be a member of IIDA. RECIPIENTS Advocacy Award This award recognizes a person who exhibits excellence in advocating for the advancement of the Interior Design Profession. This person understands the transformative effect of interior design and its positive impact on public health, safety and welfare as well as its significant economic contribution within our community. This individual supports the legal recognition of the profession and participates in our mission to achieve professional licensure. Only one Advocacy Award may be awarded per year and may only be awarded to one person at a time, once per lifetime. The recipient must be a member of IIDA. RECIPIENTS Rising Star Award This award is presented to a volunteer who represents the next generation of IIDA NE Chapter volunteers. This individual exemplifies unwavering passion and commitment to their role often taking initiative and going above and beyond the “call of duty” for their committee(s). They strive to support the greater mission of IIDA New England in everything that they do and have been in their current role for 3 years or less. Recipients must be a member of IIDA. Only one Rising Star Award may be awarded per year and may only be awarded to a person one time, once per lifetime. RECIPIENTS Certificate of Appreciation This award recognizes individuals who have shown extraordinary dedication and outstanding service to the IIDA NE Chapter as well as the industry and community. There is no limitation to the number of certificates which may be given, and recipients do not need to be members of IIDA.
